One of the most important questions I’m asked by clients who are interested in having an in-person or a long-distance feng shui consultation is what exactly does the consultation entail? Whether you are doing the consultation yourself (with the help of my book), or are interested in having a professional in-person or long-distance consultation for your home or business, there are several important aspects of a comprehensive feng shui consultation. Below I’ve listed the main steps for a consultation and have given you a brief explanation of each one.
1. The Numerology of the Home
This is one of my favorite parts of the consultation. By adding up the numbers in an address and reducing that sum to a single digit, we can find out some energetic aspects about the home or business that may be affected by its numerology. I can’t begin to tell you how frequently my clients are amazed at how accurate the numerology of the house, apartment, or business is when describing certain aspects of their experiences in that space. 2. The Personal Best Directions for the Everyone Living in the Home
This is known as one’s Kua Number. By using a formula based on a person’s birth date and gender, we can use an ancient formula to determine an individual’s four positive and negative compass directions. These are the best and worst directions for
the front of the home or office to face, for the direction a person faces while sitting or working for a period of time, as well as the direction of the top of one’s head points while lying down. To calculate your Kua number, find out your personal best directions and how to use them, click here.
3. Addressing how the Space Feels
This is arguably one of the most, if not THE most important aspects of good feng shui. This aspect of feng shui is known as “Form” Feng Shui. Form Feng Shui uses techniques to determine what does and does not contribute to comfort, relaxation, productivity and an overall positive living or working experience. It is crucial that a space feels good, or all the other feng shui applications are not going to produce positive results. There are many considerations when analyzing the house or business for good form. Décor, layout, materials, shapes, lighting, colors, and personal preferences need to be considered when creating an optimal space, and different rooms of the home have different requirements. In Feng Shui that Makes Sense you’ll find tons of great tips and information for creating outdoor and indoor areas of your home that not only look beautiful, but more importantly feel relaxing, comfortable, and nurturing. 4. The Life Aspiration Points and How to Enhance them with the Five Elements
Identifying the Life Aspiration Areas (wealth, career, love, etc.) and knowing how to enhance them is an important, but at times confusing aspect of good feng shui. This aspect of feng shui was created at about the same time as acupuncture. Just as the ancient Chinese knew that there were energetic meridian lines that traveled through the human body, they also knew that there were energetic meridian (magnetic) lines that traveled through the earth. In acupuncture, the acupuncturist uses needles to unblock stagnant energy in the human body in order to bring energy and great health to the patient. In feng shui, the feng shui consultant uses a combination of elements (water, wood, fire, earth, and metal) on specific compass (meridian) points in to unblock stagnant energy in a building in order to bring better flow to various aspects of their client’s lives. Precision and accuracy are absolutely fundamental to success when identifying and enhancing these areas. To help you with this process, please refer to chapter six my book, Feng Shui that Makes Sense for detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to determine and enhance those areas.
5. Space Clearing to rid the Environment of Previous Energy
Buildings are affected by the living things and events that have happened in them. All the feng shui efforts in the world will not be as successful if they are carried out in an environment that does not have positive energy. Fortunately there is a simple, but VERY effective technique that anyone can use in order to rid the space of previous energy while welcoming in new, fresh, positive energy that will help your feng shui efforts tremendously. This technique is known as a “Space Clearing”. By using sound to clear the space, you are actually changing the physical vibration of the rooms where you live and work. It is easy, fun, and very effective. To learn more about how to clear the energy in your home or work space, click here.
Feng Shui is an amazing system that can be used to change your life for the better. The results you get are in direct proportion to the effort you put into it. Follow the steps above to bring all aspects of feng shui into your life and you’ll be amazed at what can happen. If you begin the process and would like some professional help, please email me to find out about an in-person or long-distance consultation.
